Professor Madalena Dionísio will be the next Chemforum speaker

On the 15th of February Professor Madalena Dionísio, from FCT-Nova, will give a talk in Chemforum.

Madalena Dionísio graduated in Chemistry-Physical and Inorganic Chemistry 1986 in Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa (final thesis in calorimetry supervised by Professor José Artur Martinho Simões of IST at the time). She did her PhD in 1993 in Physical Chemistry, under the supervision of Professor Joaquim José Moura Ramos, IST/UTL in the application of dielectric spectroscopy to dynamic and structural studies (short internship in the Chemistry Department of the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth (U. K.) supervised by Professor Graham Williams). Since 1992 she’s a member of the Chemistry Department of Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (tenure in 1999 and aggregation in Feb 2017) where she started a research area in Thermal and Dielectric Properties of Materials, comprising polymers and low molecular weight compounds as liquid crystals, ionic liquids and pharmaceutical drugs. She is a Member of the Scientific Council of the Integrated Master in Chemical and Biochemical Engeneering and of the Board of the International Dielectric Society.
