The Catalysis & Porous Solids group develops efficient catalysts for industrial, pharmacological and environmental processes. The scope of the catalysts varies from homogeneous based on transition metals to heterogeneous based on nanoporous, inorganic, zeolite and nanocomposite materials. The group focuses on the catalytic application of coordination/organic compounds and nanoparticles, small molecules activation, contaminants removal, circular economy by nanostructured catalysts for non-conventional feedstock valorization, sustainable fuel desulfurization/deoxygenation, CO₂ capture, energy efficiency for HDC of post-consumer plastics and density functional theory methods for mechanisms and non-covalent interactions elucidation.
