Fátima Guedes da Silva new member of Academia das Ciências

Maria Fátima Guedes Silva, was one of the 11 Técnico professors recently elected for the Academia das Ciências. Fátima was selected as corresponding member in the Chemistry section. The Academy aims to encourage scientific research, while promoting national culture, collaborations in education and teaching activities, and contribute to the discussion of ideas. The duties of corresponding members are to attend plenary sessions, participate in the works of the Academy, and promote activities of the sections they belong to. Fátima Guedes da Silva joins other CQE members: Armando Pombeiro, Jorge Calado, Bernardo Herold and the recently deceased Fraústo da Silva.

The official ceremony will take place on the 7^th of July 2022.
