Due to COVID19 restrictions Chemforum will now be held online@zoom. Joaquim Marquês will be the 1st speaker and will give a talk on the 24th of June at 12:00.

Joaquim completed his PhD in 2013 in Molecular Biophysics, FCUL, supervised by Dr. Rodrigo Almeida and Dr. Ana Viana. Currently he's a researcher in the project  “Targeting multi-resistant tuberculosis with new potent isoniazid derivatives: an integrated medicinal chemistry approach”. PTDC/MED-QUI/29036/2017, having won a CEEC junior contract in the last FCT call.

From June 2015  to February 2016: Fellowship under the project NANOBIOSENSE - “Novel nanostructured electrodes towards optimal biosensing”.

From  13 June 2016 to 16 July 2016: Short stay at the Institute of Mechanics from Chinese Academy of Sciences in the Group of Professor Gang Jin under a Collaborative work between Portugal and China upon the 7th Sino-Portugal Scientific and Technological Cooperation Project of 2013-2015, I studied the dependence of protein adsorption with electrical potential using total internal reflection imaging ellipsometry.

From Oct 2016 – Sep 2018: Postdoctoral fellow in the project “Sphingolipid organization in the plasma membrane of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Implication in antifungal mode of action and fungal resistance”. PTDC/BBBBQB/6071/2014.

From 5 Nov 2018 – 16 Dec 2018: Short stay at the Institut für Biologie from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in the Group of Professor Andreas Herrmann under the project “Sphingolipid organization in the plasma membrane of Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
