Research team

Our research team expanded as IST and FCUL joined forces in 2020 to transform CQE into ULisboa’s most comprehensive and multidisciplinary research unit, equipped with the expertise and facilities to deliver scientific outcomes at the highest international standards. Researchers at diverse career stages are well-balanced with a number of collaborators, ensuring a rich exchange of ideas and perspectives, encompassing diversity in gender, culture, scientific approaches, and more.

We are a team composed of Integrated members, PhD students, Collaborators and Staff.

Scientific outputs

The excellent outcomes are reflected in over 1900 papers published in the past five years and in the increased number of citations per paper, with Inorganic & Nuclear Chemistry serving as a worldwide reference, with 18.3 citations per article. This figure surpasses the averages for France (8.2), Germany (6.7), UK (8.4), and USA (8.0)*.

Fundraising

Two science managers, alongside pre-award offices, enhanced efforts to secure international funding and guided researchers in finding scientific and industrial partners. In the last five years, CQE attracted over 40 M€ in research projects.
