Abstract The objective of this work was the synthesis of Cu(II) acetate route carbonate for analysis of biological activity in larvae 3rd instar of Aedes aegypti (Rockefeller strain) and bacteries gram-negative and gram-positive. The characterization the sample commercial and synthesized via carbonate was accomplished by FTIR and indicated the formation of Cu(II) acetate by the bands 1425-1625 cm-1 . Analyses by UV-Vis showed bands at 244 nm attributed to acetate and 704 nm to the Cu(II). The melting point for commercial sample and route carbonate was 117 ºC. The results of the bioassays for toxicity of Cu(II) acetate CL10 showed 14.48; CL50 CL90 22.81 and 50.00 mg L-1 . The antibiograms showed bactericidal activity for grams and concentration-dependent in the range of 10-1 to 10-4 mol L-1 . The values of the inhibition zones for bacteria found were 16 to 10 mm of Cu(II) acetate. Results demonstrated significant biological activity for of Cu(II) acetate and the need for continuing studies for investigation of Cu(II) acetate as an alternative to the comprehensive control of immature in breeding, micro / food chain and even the attractiveness of insects females for breeding.
